And he was still that in the novella, and I don’t know what made me change my opinion, but I found myself hoping he would track down Juliette and beat the crap out of Adam. He seemed, to be honest, like a psychopathic obsessive stalker with way too much power for his own good. In the first book I honestly could not figure out why anyone would root for Warner. Like I said, I wasn’t sure about the first book and reading part of it from Warner’s perspective not only made me enjoy the story more but totally changed my outlook on Warner’s character. I usually can’t stand when a book is just a retelling of the same story from a different perspective, but in this case it really worked for me. The entire novella is from Warner’s perspective, and I am still convinced that had the first book been told from Warner’s perspective it would have been far more interesting. Therefore, if you haven’t read the first book, do NOT read this review. I will give the content warning I always give for my reviews: This will be spoiler free for the novellas, but you can expect that this WILL spoil the first book of the series (as well as very minor spoilers for book two), Shatter Me. I gave Destroy Me 5 stars and Fracture Me 3 stars, for an average of 4 stars overall. This novel contains two novellas, Destroy Me and Fracture Me. So as part of my buddy read with Chandler and Sabrien, we read the rest of the Shatter Me series this month (not including Restore Me).
